Community Activities in Twizel New Zealand
Twizel NZ is an alpine village situated in the Mackenzie District in the South Island of New Zealand. Twizel is the closest town to Mount Cook and the Tasman Glacier and setting for many scenes from Lord of the Rings and many other movies. Twizel is a fly fishing paradise with its many lakes and rivers brimming with world record trout and salmon.

BEN OHAU GOLF CLUB
Twizel golfers play along tree lined fairways where once neither grass or trees existed. The Twizel 9 hole layup is set up for an 18 hole card over 5,345 metresPlayers welcome. Turn from State Highway 8 at Twizel Township signs and follow signs to golf course.

TWIZEL ROWING CLUB
Twizel Rowing Club is a small club, nestled on the grounds of Lake Ruataniwha, we have Masters, Club, Social and School Rowers. Twizel Area School Rowing, rows under the banner of Twizel Rowing Club.
The club is always looking for more people to join its squads, novice, club, senior, masters and social levels.

SPORT TWIZEL
Sport Twizel is a new 'umbrella' organisation established to provide support in the development of all sports clubs in Twizel.
As well as aiming to help strengthen individual clubs, we provide coordination of the needs of the different sports. We attempt to present a unified pitch to funding bodies as we seek to improve the facilities in town.

TWIZEL DISC GOLF
A great community project sees this short fun course right in the town of Twizel at Wairepo Road. Taking in breath-taking views of Aoraki/Mt Cook whilst putting for a PB!
The surrounding lakes and rivers offer opportunities for mountain climbing, hiking, skiing, mountain biking, gliding, boating, kayaking and fishing.

Twizel New Zealand is approximately 500 meters above sea level. Twizel is surrounded by mountain ranges and has a very distinct climate. Twizel NZ is accessible from Christchurch through Burke's Pass, from Queenstown through the Lindis Pass and from the East Coast through the Waitaki Valley.
